About the Position: US ARMY MILITARY DIST OF WASHINGTON THE ARMY AVIATION BRIGADE S4 SECTION FORT BELVOIR, VA
Duties
Projects assigned require the application or adaptation of established methods, precedents and sound practical judgment in multi-discipline engineering work.
Ensures minimum safety standards for planning, developing, and designing new airfield facilities.
Complies with health, safety, environmental rules and procedures and performs duties in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
Ensures Federal and local codes concerning health, safety, and environment are strictly adhered to in planning, programming, design and construction of airfield related and real property facilities.
Plans, designs, inspects, constructs, maintains structures and facilities that provide shelter and support transportation systems
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- One-year trial/probationary period may be required.
- You may be expected to travel up to 10% for this position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes direct planning for the modernization of military airfield and support facilities; utilize regulations to ensure compliance of standards of military construction (MILCON); and assist with general engineering work to provide guidance on project management.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
