You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the Office of the Chief of Navy Chaplains (OPNAV N097/N1G) of IMMEDIATE OFC OF CHIEF OF NVL OPS.
Duties
You will integrate Chaplain Corps (CHC) strategic communications planning into all functions of the Chief of Navy Chaplains’ scope of responsibilities.
You will prepare and coordinate Chief of Navy Chaplains communication products for strategic messaging and engagement to tell the CHC story.
You will coordinate with the DON Office of the Chief of Information (CHINFO) for accurate media relations to ensure alignment with DON strategic messaging.
You will develop a CHC communication execution plan for implementation at all echelons of the U.S. Navy (USN), U.S. Marine Corps (USMC), and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) in support of the delivery of religious ministry.
You will advise CHC Flag officers to ensure the execution plan and public affairs initiatives provide a comprehensive view of DON and CHC strategic priorities.
You will coordinate and disseminate timely, accurate, and authoritative information to all audiences, internal and external, to advance the CHC story across all claimancies, venues, and formats.
You will accomplish major responsibilities and specific duties by incorporating strategic messaging throughout all Chief of Navy Chaplains functions and tasks.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating knowledge of public affairs principles, practices, and techniques for strategic communication planning and marketing. I have experience operating computer equipment and standard database/word processing software. I am also able to communicate extremely well both orally and in writing. Examples of specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing extensive public affairs and media relations duties; 2) Applying a professional knowledge of Navy Chaplain Corps functions, policies, procedures, and regulations to develop, adapt or modify information material and make recommendations to senior staff on release of information; 3) Applying an extensive knowledge of content creation and digital media campaigns, as well as photo techniques for production of still photos for content creation/digital campaigns; 4) Knowledge of content archiving in accordance with established records management instructions, to include submission to Defense Visual Information Distribution System (DVIDS); and 5) Utilizing visual information recording, editing, reproduction equipment, and live streaming equipment techniques.
