The selectee of this position serves as a Private Seizure Specialist. You will be responsible for providing technical support and information and financial management services for the District in the execution of private civil actions.
Duties
As a Private Seizure Specialist at the GS-0301-9 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Transferring the custody of real property to a state of peaceful possession, otherwise known as evictions.
Seizure of clothing, computer software, toys and heavy equipment.
Receive deposits from private attorneys which must be deposited into the Marshal's Trust Fund Account with the Federal Reserve Bank.

Qualifications
GS-09 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).
You may qualify at the GS-0301-09 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualifications:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 level of the Federal Service that includes: Gathering and analyzing various types of legal data from federal and state courts; Monitoring and evaluating legal documents to be used in seizure cases; Working with various courts to coordinate positioning of seized property.
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree in an accredited or pre-accredited college or university; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or possession of a LL.B. or J.D degree, if related. Graduate level education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position, examples of qualifying fields include Criminal Justice, Psychology, Homeland Security, etc. (MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS).

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
