About the Position: Serve as the financial expert within the Budget Branch, Management Support Directorate (MSD), Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-9 (ODCS G-9).
Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade NTE 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-Limited Promotions may be extended to a maximum of 5 years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed 5 years; return rights may be impacted.
Duties
Serve as the Financial Management Analyst within the Budget Branch, Management Support Directorate (MSD), Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff (ODCS), G-9.
Formulate and execute the internal budget for three major appropriations.
Analyze budgetary impact of new or revised legislation.
Allocate funds in assigned areas based on an analysis of budget estimates, historical expenditures, projected workload, and approved funding.
Serve as the Defense Travel System agent.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 5% of the time.
- This position requires a Financial Management Level 3 certification within two years of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with performing financial management, program development, and/or budget development; assisting with providing advice and/or recommendations of a financial management nature to eliminate problem areas and/or improve operations; and assisting with the Execute Defense Travel System (DTS) (e.g. training, loading, updating and/or maintaining all the tables in DTS).This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
