About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W0JAAA US ARMY COUNTERINTELLIGENCE COMMAND serving as a Security Specialist/Assistant Security Officer and Alternate Government Special Access Program (SAP) Officer (GSSO).

Duties

Acquiring and preparing supporting documentation to obtain and meet requirements for facility accreditations for both SCIF and SAPFs including coordination with multiple entities to prepare documentation. Developing physical security plans for safeguarding classified information and determining physical security requirements for all secure areas, performing risk assessments. Tracking and updating all GSA container (safes) for serviceability and location, to include combination changes. Conducting monthly entry/exit inspections (EEIP) and documents results. Training and ensuring that ACIC security managers are conducting EEIP monthly. Preparing the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) in coordination with multiple command entities and higher headquarters. Resolving Intrusion Detection System (IDS) alarms, coordinating with vendors as necessary.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be required 25% or less of the time.
  • This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. This position requires the incumbent to obtain the SFPC certification within their first two years of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized experience is defined as providing security support to include but not limited to civilian, military and contractor personnel assigned to the organization; preparing and presenting all initial and annual security awareness briefings to civilian, military, and contractor personnel; AND scheduling required testing of systems and facility as needed i.e., Intrusion Detection System (IDS) alarms. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Personnel Security and SafetySecuritySecurity Program Management Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.

Education
