This position provides clerical, administrative, and technical support to the Director of Clinical Operations and Homeless Program Office Operational Analytics Section leads, in addition to VAMC Homeless Program staff field support around data systems use and validation. VHA's Homeless Program Office (HPO) is responsible for providing care and services annually to over 200,000 homeless and at-risk Veterans nation-wide.
Duties

Composs, edit, and review correspondence and technical assistance for completeness, spelling, and typing
Obtain and summarize information from files, documents, and personal contacts for the VHA Homeless Program
Office based on general instructions of nature and purpose of required information.
Subject matter expert (SME) on HOMES within the Homeless Program Office, with support to offices such as the VHA Support Service Center (VSSC) and for VAMC homeless program
Produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats such as graphics or tables within text, to edit and reformat electronic drafts, and to update and revise existing databases or spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Adobe Acrobat
Professional, and PowerPoint.
Disseminate staff/customer emails as directed by the Director
HPO Operational Analytics Section travel coordinator and serves as an alternate preparer in making travel arrangements to include hotel, air, rental car reservations and completing/submitting travel vouchers and expense reports.
Manage and control access to automated systems such as HOMES and the Homeless Program Office's shared drive.
Type from draft stage to final form Homeless Program Office policies, correspondence and technical assistance, adhering to established format, as well as checking for punctuation, spelling, and sentence structure.
Ensure that all memorandums are reviewed and reissued in accordance with the schedule, routing through the appropriate channels for
review/input and signatures as necessary.
Take and transcribe dictation from staff and group conference calls, summarizing pertinent information

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/09/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Specialized Experience: Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. In order to meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet 5 of 7 of the following examples of specialized experience.

Physical Requirements: The works is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, etc. No specific physical demands are required to perform the work.
