Joining the Secret Service, Office of Investigations will allow you to manage a variety of administrative and support services, investigative, and protective support functions of the resident office.

Duties

The selectee will serve as an Administrative Officer in the Office of Investigations. Typical work assignments include: Managing and directing administrative and support services of the resident office including financial management, facilities management, human resources management and/or procurement. Reviewing and coordinating the preparation of investigative and administrative reports. Providing guidance on the interpretation and application of administrative regulations and policies. Utilizing criminal databases to conduct preliminary searches and/or enter data. The selectee will serve as an Administrative Officer in the Office of Investigations, Houston Field Office (Mexico City Resident Office). This position is located in Houston, Texas but the work performed is on behalf of the Mexico City Office Resident Office.

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below Minimum Qualifications: You qualify for the GS-11 level (starting salary $83,671.00) if you possess one of the following: GS-11: Applicant must possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties: Assisting in planning and coordination of administrative and support services management activities in the areas of financial management, facilities management, human resources management, and/or procurement; Tracking investigative and/or administrative actions to create reports for program operations; and Reviewing electronic and traditional files, databases and/or evidence (e.g., financial, personnel, criminal, classified/sensitive materials, etc.) to assist specialists with criminal investigations. NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. OR Successfully completed three (3) full year of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.; or successfully completed a Ph.D.; or LL.M., if related, at an accredited college or university in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. ORPossess less than one year of experience as described in A and less than 3 years of graduate level education as described in B. However, I have a combination of specialized experience and graduate level education that when combined, equals at least 100% of the total requirement. Note: Only graduate education in excess of the master's level [generally 36 semester hours] may be used in this calculation. Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted). All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Qualification claims will be subject to verification. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office. Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP): This program applies to Federal service employees whose positions have been deemed surplus or no longer needed, or employees who have been involuntarily separated from a Federal service position within the competitive service.
