This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of Communications and Public Liaison in Washington, DC. Responsible for coordinating the development and dissemination of information through digital media tools.

Duties

Duties: Plan and implement outreach and social media engagement campaigns that support agency events, SBA programs and services and Front Office and Administrator's events. Research, write, edit and design content and digital assets for external audiences in a variety of formats, including blogs, success stories, national newsletter, campaign messaging, scripts, and SBA program material/guides for social media promotion. Monitor digital/social media measurement tools and platforms and analyze statistics to determine the effectiveness of digital/social media activities in meeting stated goals. Create training material, maintain training calendar and manage training events for SBA's field offices for social media and SBA's newsletters including guidance on content and message standards, policies and metrics. Research, write, edit and design digital tiles and video messages for distribution on social media channels.

  • You must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
  • This is not a (drug) testing designated position (TDP).
  • This is a Bargaining Unit position with AFGE Local 228.

Qualifications

GS-13: At least one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service) obtained in either the private or public sector: managing, editing and writing organization-level social media posts for various social media channels; develops policies and procedures on social media training and implements best practices; and creates campaigns techniques to include writing posts, creating promo tiles and video clips for dissemination. It is available for your review on OPM's Qualifications web site: Public Affairs Series, 1035 Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME-IN-GRADE: If you are a current career or career-conditional federal employee applying for promotion under Merit Promotion you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in positions at the next level lower than the position being filled. All qualification requirements must be met by 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on 10/09/2024.

Education may not be substituted for experience for this position.
