About the Position: Serves as the Casualty Assistance Center (CAC) Program Trainer for Casualty Affairs at Fort Stewart, Georgia which is the largest Army post east of the Missisippi River.

Duties

Monitor required suspense reporting for submission to Casualty Mortuary Affairs Operation Center. Provide staff assistance in relation to training. Use automated programs to track scheduled training courses. Update training records properly to ensure course credit accuracy. Participate in task analyses for determining training requirements in training and testing materials and specialized learning programs. Provide instruction in all phases of specific Casualty Affairs program. Manage an automated training system to support training requirements. Develop standing operating procedures for use and operation of facilities.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent performs 24-hour casualty assistance duties and must be immediately available to respond.
  • Incumbent may be expected to travel for TDY up to 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes 1) experience teaching or instructing adult students; 2) experience assisting with course development; 3) experience with casualty affairs programs such as mortuary affairs, post cemetery, mass casualty, military burial honors, Line of Duty (LOD), and/or pre-deployment trainings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Human Resources, Public Speaking, Communication, and Education. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
