THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1636000 and is part of the KY 123 AW, National Guard.

Duties

As a AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC - TITLE 32, WG-8602-10, you will remove, install, certify, repair, modify, overhaul, and install turboprop engines, reduction gear boxes, turbine modules, compressor modules, auxiliary power units, propellers and components. Perform maintenance on propulsion systems including repairs and overhauls. Diagnose malfunctions using computerized test equipment, schematic diagrams, and technical publications. Perform repairs according to the test results and analysis. Modify engines, propellers, auxiliary power units, and components in accordance with Time Compliance Technical Orders directives; remove and install engine quick change kits; prepare engines for installation and install engine and propeller assemblies on aircraft. Perform operational checks of installed propellers, engines, auxiliary power units and sub-systems during aircraft maintenance ground runs. Perform evaluations on engines, propellers and auxiliary power units. Interpret certification findings and determine adequacy of corrective action. Perform aircraft full power runs and complete engine and propeller efficiency checks. Prepare man-hour data collection and required forms for input. Maintain bench stock, parts, and equipment. Provide training for personnel. Advise supervisor of the experience and skill levels of personnel. Prepare for and participates in evaluations, inspections, and exercises. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Experience that has provided the ability to perform assembly and disassembly operations and make prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories in accordance with technical specifications, procedures and requirements. Experience using hand and power tools common to the trade. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 18 months experience performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories. Experience performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft. Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment. (Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only and unspecified work schedule will result in disqualification.
