THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC LEADER - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1637000 and is part of the KY 123 AW, National Guard. ***NOTE: This is a DUAL announcement with AGR24-035, only one candidate will be selected for this vacancy.***

Duties

As a AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC LEADER - TITLE 32, WL-8602-10, you will provide direction to resolve problems on aircraft engines and propellers in a field level environment. Lead three or more engine mechanic subordinates in diagnosing malfunctions, troubleshooting, and evaluating propulsion performance tests to determine the disassembly necessary for repair or replacement of parts. Monitor work of assigned personnel, set the work pace, convey work assignments, and ensure materials, tools, equipment, and stock are available. Coordinate and work with aircraft mechanics and specialist personnel performing journey level work. Ensure assigned personnel are fully utilized and work is accomplished in accordance with established time frames and priorities. Check work in progress and upon completion for compliance with the supervisor's instructions, appropriate technical orders, etc. Serve as a technical advisor by answering questions regarding appropriate procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives. Ensure all safety, housekeeping, security, and other environmental rules and procedures are followed in shop and the flight line. Advise the supervisor of overall work operations, status, and progress of work, causes for delays, problems encountered, and individual performance. As requested by the supervisor, provide functional planning for the inspection docks. Recommend adjustments in work schedules to provide optimum utilization of personnel in support of functional requirements. Routinely works with and alongside journey-level counterparts. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Experience that has provided sufficient knowledge to complete the work of this occupational series. Must have the ability to read and interpret technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment. Must have the ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories. Experience performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft. Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis. Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment.
