Duties
Oversees the execution of the facilities budget and provides comprehensive funding data in preparation of projects requiring alterations, planned maintenance, repair work, and replacement of equipment.
Directs and/or conducts special studies involving a myriad of building management functions for alterations/modifications to the facility.
Develops and implements facility management policy and procedures and coordinates these activities with management, operating officials, and contractors as appropriate.
Provides professional building management/facility guidance information to customers.
Monitors building systems to determine their adequacy and cost effectiveness.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Incumbent is required to complete the Contracting Officer Representative mandatory training within 90 days upon entering the position and maintain proficiency annually thereafter.
- This position is not eligible for telework.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-11within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: Advising on issues relating to facilities engineering maintenance, repair projects, contracts, planning, and the administration and execution of contracts in support of maintenance and repair of facilities.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education is not substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.
