This position is located in the Maintenance Division.Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work approximately 11 months, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.

Duties
This position will perform duties such as:
Coordinates with park staff and stakeholders to develop interpretive content for wayside signage and exhibits that effectively communicates interpretive themes to visitors.
Takes part in the development of exhibits, as well as studies appropriate park interpretive planning documents and discusses the proposed exhibit development with the park staff and consultants to gain a basic knowledge of park interpretive themes and resources sufficient to effectively conduct exhibit planning and production projects. Researches and prepares content of interpretive media and assure factual accuracy support of project goals and interpretive themes, assembles, and tracks.
Examines all exhibit plans before finalization to assure that factual data are correct; grammar, spelling, and punctuation are correct; and usage and style meet the criteria for well-written exhibit text. Coordinates the selection of graphics, artwork, and photographs used in interpretive media, exhibits and tangible objects.
Assists with the development of long-range interpretive plans, bringing expertise for exhibits and publications. Writes interpretive planning documents and proposals. Serves on interdisciplinary planning teams and may coordinate planning team activities. Writes and publishes interpretive planning documents and proposals.
Stay abreast of and apply emerging technologies, DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility) principles, and accessibility standards.
Qualifications

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 for each federal position listed as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of qualifying experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-11 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Basic Qualifications: Have an Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Major study -- illustrative design, commercial art, fine arts, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, or other fields related to the position. Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.

Have experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes work in the appropriate field, e.g., design, modelmaking, art, taxidermy, or restoration.
-AND-
Specialized Experience: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: Independently evaluate, plan, initiate, administer and manage preservation construction projects; researching, investigating and evaluating historic structures and related data to determine condition of the building and appropriate action required, and directing and advising work crews on project requirements; and preparing project scopes of work and constructions contracts for historic preservation projects and assisting with training of other employees. You must include hours per week worked.

Education: Successful completion of at least Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. You must include transcripts.

Combination: Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience, first take the number of semester hours (or equivalent) earned towards a graduate degree, in excess of 18 semester hours, and divide by 18 semester hours (or equivalent). Then take the number of months of full-time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must include hours worked and transcripts.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
CTAP: Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection.
