About the Position: Performs duties as a Mail Clerk at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. Fort McCoy is located in west-central Wisconsin, midway between Chicago and Minneapolis, just off Interstates 90 & 94. Duties
Create administrative documents relating to Official Mail management.
Receive official mail from a Contract Postal Unit for delivery to an Official Mail Distribution Center.

Classify official mail according to location, organizational functions and office symbols.
Practice safe vehicle operation by obeying speed limits and traffic laws.
Schedule preventative and general maintenance on vehicles to complete inspections.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 50lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using the knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations and standard operating procedures to sort mail for distribution; check addresses and other data on mail for proper format and conformance with postal standards; resolve problems; maintain records; prepare reports; operate a vehicle for pickups and deliveries; perform operator maintenance on vehicles. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
