You will serve as an Electrician in the Temporary Services shop (25D), Miscellaneous Services Branch {Code 342) Waterfront Services Division {Code~340), Repair Department (Code-300), TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Duties

You will receive and carry out instructions as required by the shop supervisor and advises other workers to follow the instructions received. You will maintain liaison and coordinates with other trade and technical personnel to discuss electrical systems and components on submarines. You will inspect and perform check-out of all repair, alteration and maintenance work accomplished for damage, wear and proper installation.

Requirements

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position may require travel worldwide at which time additional medical screening may be required.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISIONsuch as: The ability to provide temporary electrical systems and services for ships, tugboats, small crafts, production shops, and various drydock, pier, and building facilities. The ability to maintain knowledge of the makeup, operation, and installation of diverse electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and controls. The ability to lay out, fabricate, and assemble switchboards, control panels, transformer assemblies, power circuit breakers, and other electrical devices. The ability to operate and conduct maintenance on shore power substations, breakers, cables, auxiliary power circuits, and related equipment. The ability to utilize formulas essential to the trade for calculating voltage and resistance. The ability to perform shop manufacturing, assembly, disassembly, testing, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment and components required for temporary electrical systems and services.
