You will serve as an Electrician in the outside Electrical Repair Shop of (51B), Electrical Division (TRF-330) Repair Department (TRFC300) TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Duties
You will receive and carry out instructions as required by the shop supervisor and advises other workers to follow the instructions received.
You will maintain liaison and coordinates with other trade and technical personnel to discuss electrical systems and components on submarines.
You will inspect and perform check-out of all repair, alteration and maintenance work accomplished for damage, wear and proper installation.
Requirements
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position may require travel worldwide at which time additional medical screening may be required.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Ability to provide guidance on electric principles and formulas and possess an understanding of basic electronics to complete repairs on variety of complex electrical systems and equipment.
Ability to read, write, know practical shop math as it applies to electrical work, interpret and work from electrical/electronic schematics, flow charts, service manuals, technical work documents, engineering instructions, and blueprints.
Ability to inspection of electrical machinery for damage, wear and proper installation
Ability to test electrical systems to trace malfunctions and locate defects to a particular component.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, drawings, diagrams and blueprints.
