This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of Compliance (AC). The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate staff and collaboration across the agency to facilitate the implementation of the Chief Compliance Officer's vision and decisions. Coordinates and leads complex projects and studies required to support the DEA mission and senior leaders. Promotes innovation toward risk management, policy, and external audit initiatives.

Duties

As a Senior Advisor, your typical work assignments may include: Providing management direction and advice in the execution of Office of Administration programs and projects. Leading, conducting or participating in the research and analysis in complex management studies, projects, issues and programs goals, particularly those with wide or significant effect upon staffs' organizational structure, policy, processes, operations, fiscal control and technology. Planning, developing, and monitoring office budget plans, and coordinating administrative support activities that cross agency lines. Authoring official documents and both internal and external executive communications on behalf of the Deputy Assistant Administrator, and representing the office at meetings, conferences, and presentations. Planning and leading internal office events, communications, and initiatives to foster collaboration and retain personnel.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all of the required qualification requirements described below by the closing of this announcement. If you are qualifying based on education or if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcript with your application. Applicants applying for the GS-15 must meet the following requirements: Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-14 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing analytical, evaluative and advisory expertise related to mission-critical program goals; 2) Providing oversight and expertise for projects and programs with emphasis on development and continuous improvement; 3) Identifying, developing and implementing goals and objectives for policies and procedures; planning, organizing and implementing programs, plans and proposals that involve substantial resources; 4) Providing advice and guidance to executive level management, program managers and office heads; and drafting comprehensive and complex written documents. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
