You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PUBLIC AFFAIRS AND VISUAL INFORMATION SPECIALIST in the G5, Government External Affairs Directorate of MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CTR.

Duties

You will advise major subordinate and tenant commands aboard the installation with strategic communication matters. You will be responsible for planning, designing, initiating and executing comprehensive campaigns to inform and educate general and specialized public about programs, activities and services. You will serve as first level supervisor for up to 10 Marines You will provide administrative direction and policy to the staff by making assignments in terms of the broadly defined mission or function of the organization's public affairs' program. You will assign, prioritize and evaluate work.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Creating Public Affairs communication plans and risk communication, (2) Experience creating all phases of audiovisual productions from inception to completion; (3) Plan, coordinate and manage reproduction; (4) Experience supervising and managing people and assets effectively.
