You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the NMRTC TWENTY NINE PALMS CA.

Duties

You will utilize all available media outlets to inform target audiences of activities, aims, and accomplishments of Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) Twentynine Palms and its branch health clinics. You will act as the command's ambassador and link to military and civilian media. You will coordinate facilities external medica support for internal and external command public relations. You will research, write, compose, and proofread news and feature articles

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience developing and producing innovative written communication materials that convey a range of subjects related to the command's missions; Experience effectively interacting and dealing with a variety of publics to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships; Experience researching, writing and disseminating information products and advising staff regarding the content and presentation of material. (i.e. news releases, new and/or feature articles, fact sheets, posters, brochures, flyers, multimedia presentations, web pages, speeches, and scripts); Experience organizing and coordinating print and broadcast media interviews with staff members and oversees arrangements with the media involving command activities. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position:

Master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related


COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
