The position performs duties to assist one Individual, and In some cases the subordinate staff of that Individual, by performing general office work auxiliary to the work of the organization. The position is the principal clerical or administrative support position in the office, operating independently of any other such position in the office.
Duties
Assists in preparation of justification or personnel actions, timekeeper, training coordinator, procurement of office materials, travel, special meeting presentation preparation, assist with travel orders/vouchers, and property accountability.
Receives telephone calls and visitors, discretely screening nature of call in order to determine those that should be referred to the supervisor or can be diverted to other contacts.

Utilizes office automation systems to use several types of software for various office needs.
Processing procedures and function keys for performing a substantial range of functions within each software type.
Receives and reviews all incoming mail and determines whether appropriate to call to attention of supervisor, to direct to branches, or to handle personally by presenting response in final form.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/03/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-05 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-04. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Experience, skills, and ability to coordinate the work of the office with the work of other offices, and for recognizing the need for such coordination in various circumstances. Knowledge and experience of an extensive body of rules, procedures, or operations applied to clerical assignments, and knowledge of the organization and functions of the office in order to perform all of the procedural work of the office. Knowledge and experience of the work of the office sufficient to screen requests for information, personally provide authorized information from flies and records or advise on established and refer nonroutine requests to the appropriate staff member. Knowledge and experience to carry out and coordinate, in a timely and effective manner, many different procedures, each of which might Involve numerous steps, such as all of those needed to obtain and monitor a full range of office support services such as printing, maintenance, and supply services. Knowledge of the procedures applicable to the control, authorization, securing, and justification of such services, request various types of personnel training actions or services. Experience in preparing a wide variety of recurring internal reports and documents from information obtained from the staff, files, and other sources. Knowledge and experience of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capillarization, and style, A qualified typist is required.

Physical Requirements: The work Is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform legwork.
