Duties
Serving as a Human Resources Assistant (Information Systems) GS-0203-7 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Workforce Support Branch (WSB) of the Human Capital Office (HCO) within the Mission and Readiness Support Directorate (MRSD) in Glynco, Georgia.
In this position you will be responsible for providing support for personnel-related programs; processing various personnel actions, including Time and Attendance (T&A); conducting research and providing technical support to employees and officials related to T&A; processing payroll elections; and ensuring the timely and accurate completion of various program assignments. You will service employees at all FLETC locations.
Typical duties include:
Understanding and using human recourses information technology (HRIT) systems for the processing of personnel actions, Time and Attendance, and Payroll data.
Providing customer support and ensuring the accuracy of data within all HRIT systems.
Consulting with stakeholders to rectify Time and Attendance and payroll inconsistences and/or make recommendations on resolving Time and Attendance errors.
Assisting with providing training and technical guidance on the use of the Time and Attendance processing system to employees.
Maintaining files, records, and supporting documentation in accordance with required policies on personnel, payroll and Time and Attendance actions.
Processing a variety of personnel actions into automated personnel/payroll systems.
Reviewing data output for accuracy, researching and correcting errors.
Maintaining electronic-Official Personnel Files which includes filing, purging, auditing records, and requesting files from other human resources offices or archive centers.
Assisting with the coordination of new-employee orientations and completion of in-processing onboarding paperwork.
Responding to various questions regarding personnel processing procedures received from management, staff and members of the public.

Requirements

Specialized Experience for the GS-07: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service providing information systems support for human resources related programs such as: processing a variety of personnel actions in accordance with the Guide to Processing Personnel Actions, advising stakeholders on the completion of including Time and Attendance (T&A) in an automated information system; conducting research and providing technical support to management and employees related to Time and Attendance, the processing of personnel actions and records management.
-OR- Have successfully completed one year of graduate level education (18 semester hours) that is directly related to the work of the position.
-OR- Possess an equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate level education that is directly related to the position as described above. I understand that only graduate education is excess of the first 9 semester hours will be combined with the specialized experience.

Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
