You will serve as a AIRCRAFT EXAMINER (AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC) in the FLEET READINESS CENTER MRO PRODUCTION DEPT PROD LINES DIV of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Duties

You will annotate discrepancies during initial induction inspection which shall be corrected. You will examine, evaluate, and analyze the condition of aircraft engines, their accessories and related components to determine the extent of disassembly and depth of rework. You will evaluate engine logbooks, and module service records to extract and analyze vital historical data to determine required depth of repair. You will troubleshoot aircraft engines to determine when to replace faulty machinery or accessories.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION Examine, evaluate, and analyze the condition of aircraft engines, their accessories and related components to determine the extent of disassembly and depth of rework; Disassemble, assemble and test one or more of the J52, F404, F414, or TF34 engine programs and their related accessories; Interpret and retain information from complex blueprints, detailed specifications, technical directives to analyze and evaluate aircraft engines; Evaluate engine log books, and module service records to extract and analyze vital historical data to determine required depth of repair; Use of measuring instruments for inspection of jet engines and their related components; Troubleshoot aircraft engines to determine when to replace faulty machinery or accessories.
