You will serve as a AIRCRAFT ENGINE REPAIRER in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST, MRO PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.
Duties
You will use computer terminals or personal computers to access technical manuals.
You will order and track engine parts and/or components in an automated supply system.
You will visually estimate serviceability of disassembled parts to detect mismatched or misaligned parts.
You will use special assembly/disassembly jigs and tools.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Disassembling aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories, removing tubing, fuel controls, pumps from engines and breaks down major assemblies in proper sequence;
Determining is disassembled parts are reusable, recognizing scratches, burns, deformation, etc.;
Examining, evaluating, reconditioning and assembling subassemblies of limited variety such as compressors or building up "hot" sections;
Inspecting disassembled parts for defects such as warping, under or overweight or for continuity of wiring harness; and
Performing visual, dimensional, and tactile checks of individual parts for foreign object damage, stress fractures, and excessive wear.
