The position is located within the General Services Administration (GSA), Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs (OCIA). The incumbent is responsible for coordinating, researching, and writing timely responses to address a variety of Congressional inquiries Location of position: 1800 F ST NW Washington, DC We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.

Duties

Develops new processes and evaluates existing procedures for researching, compiling, composing, and retaining information within GSA related to correspondences and legislative issues, and makes recommendations for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of such processes. Develops and implements methods to track, manage, and evaluate the timeliness and accuracy of GSA's responses related to correspondence, audits, and legislative inquiries and uses quantitative and qualitative methods to measure success. Develops and maintains relationships with internal Subject Matter Experts, program experts, other GSA staff, internal and external customers and stakeholders to continuously monitor and evaluate their needs. Monitors, tracks, and manages OMB Legislative Referral Memo (LRM) and correspondence activities using available automated databases to ensure accurate and timely responses. Assists in managing OCIA audit responses with the Office of the Inspector General and U.S. General Accountability Office.  Manages notifications to Congressional offices of GSA contract awards to constituents, including contract notifications to Congressional offices, and liaison with GSA contracting awarding offices on any follow-up issues raised by the Congressional offices.

The GS-13 salary range starts at $117,962 per year.If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as serving as the point of contact for ensuring that sensitive messages, correspondence, and information are accurately addressed; leveraging relationships with stakeholders; developing new processes and evaluating existing procedures for researching, compiling, composing, and retaining information; extracting and determining the significance of relevant data; developing and implementing methods to track, manage, and evaluate the timeliness and accuracy of responses to audits, inquiries, and other correspondence; and using quantitative and qualitative methods to measure success.

Education

There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-13 level.
