About the Position: Serves as a Training Specialist performing a variety of assignments in support of the Command and General Staff School Headquarters, Chief of Curriculum.
Duties
Develop and integrate the CGSS curriculum and education within the advanced distributed learning (ADL), and the school system.
Establish objectives and outcomes to ensure students attainment of goals, courses, and corresponding curriculums.
Provide instruction to active and reserve component faculty and curriculum developers on the development of various types of test and assessments in order to assess student performance.
Train developers on the development of course objectives, tests and assessments that corresponds to learning outcomes.
Establish assessment tools, reviewing and providing input into the establishment of instructional design and development criteria through the analysis of educational or instructional requirements.
Provide information on the alignment of tests/assessment objectives with higher level learning outcomes.
Conduct data analysis on all assessments and evaluation instruments for the Command.
Review assessment instruments and process used in school courses to ensure they are designed to achieve the intended result, supportive of course outcomes and objectives.
Prepare analysis results and related reports to support the decision-making processes influencing curriculum design and credentialing programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 Background check throughout the duration of employment.
- Temporary Duty (TDY), up to 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes: training, curriculum review, educational assessment design and development, data analysis, and developing accreditation plans of action.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
