Duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), Office of Administration, Records Delegations and Directives Team (RDDT) in Sterling, VA.
At the full performance level (GS-12) the major duties of this position include but are not limited to the following:
Performs a range of assignments that involve electronic records management initiatives.
Reviews system architecture and supports the Records Officer with integration of e-records management requirements into system development; engages, trains, and collaborates with information management staff.
Performs in-depth analysis of existing records content and recordkeeping systems, both manual and automated, and develops solutions to unspecified system requirements and or capabilities.
Administers the records services for the Bureau through solutions such as Enterprise Content Management and E-Mail Archiving tools.
Establishes and manages user accounts for records management service solutions; implements operational and technical controls for access and configuration.
Coordinates with internal and external customers for Information Technology (IT) functional and non-functional requirements that support automated records management controls.
Supports the autoclassification of electronic records, creation of dispositioning models, identification of metadata fundamental to the management of electronic records management and dispositioning.
BSEE has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
You may be expected to travel for site visits, meetings, training, and conferences. Some travel is required as are visits to other offices, various storage areas, warehouse, computer facilities and National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) facilities.
Work is generally sedentary, with some standing, stooping, and lifting of records and boxes up to 30 pounds.
Salary Information:
GS-12: $ 99,200 (Step 1) - $ 128,956 (Step 10) per annum.
First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level.
This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the grade to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience:
To qualify for the GS-12, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
Implementing electronic and non-electronic records procedures and guidance in collaboration with various program staff and stakeholders.
Analyzing records information technology systems, software applications, databases, or cloud products/services to identify gaps in compliance electronic records system requirements.
Coordinating with business owners and internal users in guiding their electronic records retention strategies, and
Advising leadership on enterprise-wide data governance with a focus on controlled unclassified information management.
