You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY COMMUNITY PLANNER/ARCHITECT in the ASSET MANAGEMENT BUSINESS LINE of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.
This is an interdisciplinary position which may be filled by any of the following series: Community Planner (0020), Architect (0808).
The salary range for positions filled at the GS-11 is $82,764 to $107,590.
The salary range for positions filled at the GS-12 is $99,200 to $128,956.
Duties
You will communicate with personnel (e.g., peers, customers, and leadership) on issues, options, and recommended solutions related to assigned community planning programs and projects.
You will advise on planning principles to recommend solutions for facilities or infrastructure issues.
You will maintain and balance planning data related to assets and requirements within the Navy Shore Facility Planning System
You will serve as the Navy’s technical representative on architect and engineer contracts.
You will develop reports and feasibility studies to provide statistical data (e.g., base loading, cost estimates, plans) and justifications.

- Selectee must have and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
FOR THE GS 12 GRADE LEVEL:
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Providing advisory or review services on specific problems, projects, programs, and/or functions related to architecture, and/or community planning; 2) Developing facility plans and objectives including criteria, procedures, and instructions; 3) Analyzing the impacts (i.e., benefits and liabilities) of facility projects; 4) Using experience on project teams and cross-discipline staff in product delivery; 5) Providing experience in various Planning Products & Services, Planning Criteria, and Planning Systems; 6) Providing experience in planning concepts & principles, and analytics for project development; 7) Serving as a technical representative on architectural and engineering projects. FOR THE GS 11 GRADE LEVEL:
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Analyzing specific problems, projects, programs, and/ or functions related to architecture, and/or community planning; 2) Demonstrating experience on project teams and cross-discipline staff in product delivery; 3) Conducting Asset Evaluations on facilities independently; 4) Evaluating specific plans/designs to prepare and present reports; 5) Serving as a technical representative on architectural and engineering projects.
