Duties
You will perform engineering technician drafting duties by assisting project engineers with limited portions of the design work and performing drafting assignments, primarily using Computer Aided Design/Drafting (CADD).
You will prepare concept, preliminary, and final design drawings for engineering or architectural disciplines to include structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and/or architectural features.
You will translate ideas, rough and marked-up sketches, schematics, “red-lined prints”, CADD files, specifications, photos, information gathered in the field, and verbal instructions into complete and accurate architectural drawings and maps.
You will make site visits to take/verify measurements or collect other field data to be incorporated in drawings and maps. Uses mathematics to determine areas, angles, dimensions, scale, etc.
You will prepare alterations, revisions, and additions to drawings.
You will determine layering, scale, views, projections, sections, and details to be used in drawings.
You will ensure that details accurately depict design requirements and that drawings present a professional appearance.
You will serve as CADD and Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) system primary operator, responsible for routine daily operation of a state-of-the-art CADD/CAFM system and related equipment.
You will update information on current programs and systems being used and/or developed.
You will develop cost estimates, designs, and specifications for minor facilities modifications, alterations, and repair and maintenance projects.
You will develop cost estimates for assigned construction projects using information found in the R.S. Means Estimating Handbooks.
You will research vendor catalogs including Sweets Architectural Trade Catalogs; specifications and Architectural Graphics Standards; and the internet for product information, building codes, etc.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
