You will serve as an ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the HAZARDOUS WASTE SECTION of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will develop, analyze, implement, evaluate, and modify the existing Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton(CPEN) Hazardous Waste Management and Hazardous Waste Permit Programs policies, permit conditions, and procedures.
You will ensure continual environmental compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and statutes to include, but not limited to the Resource Conservation and Recover Act(RCRA), the Pollution Prevention Pollution Act, and state/local laws.
You will ensure that the Permitted Hazardous Waste Storage Facilities are operated in compliance with all permit conditions at all times.
You will implement and provide direction, assistance, and hazardous waste disposition determinations for the Hazardous Waste Management Program for CPEN.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Establishing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive program for environmental support services; 2) Conducting environmental inspections for compliance in multiple environmental medias; and 3) Assisting with hazardous substance spill response and clean-up.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or
- 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or
- LL.M., if related
