This vacancy is for a Supervisory Export Enforcement Specialist in the Bureau of Industry and Security Office of the Assistant Secretary for Export Enforcement, Office of Export Enforcement, Investigative Programs Division, Administrative Enforcement Unit within the Department of Commerce.
Duties
As a Supervisory Export Enforcement Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
Serves as the Administrative Enforcement Unit Chief for the Office of Export Enforcement (OEE).
Ensures that the Bureau of Industry and Security/Office of Export Enforcement administrative case program is accomplished in a manner that makes the most effective use of Departmental resources and results in appropriate administrative penalties.
Ensures that all Voluntary Self Disclosures (VSD) program activities are accomplished in a satisfactory manner.
Supervises Export Enforcement Analysts and other staff, who perform VSD related functions.
Composes and review intra-department memoranda, letters, communications, and summary investigative reports. Assist in formulating plans and policies related to administrative enforcement and voluntary self-disclosure matters.
Represents OEE in meetings with high level officials from other agencies, representatives of private companies, trade associations, Congressional staff, and foreign government official visitors.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify at the GS-14 level:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:
Developing strategic plans and maintaining programs for an investigative/intelligence organization;
Developing administrative enforcement and/or regulatory policies;
Conducting presentations on regulatory and/or enforcement matters before a large public and/or government audience; and
Maintaining liaison with investigative offices inside and outside of the organization.
