Duties
This position is located at Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), HQ Operations - International Affairs Division.
As a Deputy Director - International Affairs Division, you will:
Assist the Director by developing and setting policy for the Division's program responsibilities, goals, objectives, and work plans. Conduct, direct, and makes recommendations concerning short or long-range planning to accommodate or anticipate changes in legislation, funding, resources (e.g., staffing) and programs.
Serve as the principal advisor on Division issues and matters pertaining to importation and exportation of alcohol products to the Director, Administrator, Assistant Administrator Headquarters Operations, and other Bureau officials.
Serve as principal spokesperson for TTB on such matters at conferences, formal and informal meetings, gatherings, and discussions.
Oversee and coordinate the execution of Division special projects involving complex studies, and make recommendations and take actions based on the results of these studies.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience:
For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
-Experience applying and analyzing U.S. laws and regulations; and experience applying and analyzing treaties administered or enforced by Federal, state and foreign agencies. OR
-Experience developing or implementing policies, goals, or objectives for international engagement.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a nontemporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
