You will serve as a Security Officer in the Department of Navy of 20THNAVALCONSTRREG.
Duties
You will plan, develop, coordinate, and implement required security policies and procedures.
You will act as technical expert and advise the Commander and Subordinate commands on all matters relating to Personnel, Information and Physical Security
You will review, plan, evaluate and execute a comprehensive security program encompassing all facets of security management.
You will act as the Commander's representative in denying, revoking, suspending, or restricting security clearances.
You will direct and supervise the investigation of security incidents and violations/compromises to determine cause factors and prevent recurrence.
You will supervise the investigation program for security clearances and access to sensitive positions.
You will authorize or deny clearance access based on adjudicative criteria.
You will direct and supervise the continuing evaluation program.
You will direct and conduct the evaluation and inspection of subordinate command security programs.
You will formally inspect the Personnel, Information and Physical Security programs of subordinate commands.
You will manage the command's access control card program.
Requirements

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You must have a favorable adjudicated Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) and maintain eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance and access to SCI.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require 10% travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience reviewing requests for personnel or facility security clearances, reviewing reports of personnel investigations to determine granting, denying, or revoking security clearances.
Experience applying of the basic principles, concepts, policies, practices, and methods of Personnel, Information, Physical, and Industrial Security management.
Experience communicating orally and in writing: policy, goals, and objectives of the security program to all levels of personnel.
Experience applying knowledge of criteria, equipment, or techniques for all security disciplines to resolve well-defined questions or conditions.
