You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the COMMUNICATION DEPARTMENT of 20THNAVALCONSTRREG.
Duties
You will serve as the coordinator and principle point of contact for issues and matters that affect Communication Security (COMSEC) material especially in the areas of issue, policy, procedures, accountability and control management.
You will serve as an advisor to the commanding officer on COMSEC matters.
You will provide advice on program execution and status, and measure implementations of plans and policies.
You will provide background information and guidance on procedures, local policy decisions resources and KMI operations.
You will plan, prepare, evaluate and approve all COMSEC presentations, training tools and guidance to ensure accuracy of content and compliance with written instructions and publications.
You will disseminate and exchange information about COMSEC policy and procedures.
You will contribute to the improvement of COMSEC awareness, security measures, increased knowledge base of command personnel regarding COMSEC policy and procedures.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience applying Communication Security (COMSEC) policies and procedures using EKMS 1 (series), EKMS 5 (series), and CMS numbered general messages.
Experience providing insight, guidance and standards regarding the issues that affect the proper handling, safeguarding, accountability, control and disposition of COMSEC material.
Experience providing, developing, implementing and maintaining COMSEC policies and procedures.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.M., if related
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience
