You will serve as a UEM (Underwater Electromagnetic) and Non-acoustics System Integration Team (SIT) Lead supporting PMS351 in the UEM Signatures and Technology Division (Code 75) of CARDEROCK DIV NS.

Duties

You will be responsible for the design and integration of assigned underwater electromagnetic (UEM) and Non-Acoustic (NA) systems (including ICCP, degaussing, and active shaft grounding), design areas, and trade spaces. You are expected to support Technical Warrant Holder (TWH) pyramid(s). You will be the day-to-day project office liaison between PMS351, NAVSEA 05 TWH(s), and other stakeholder organizations including SEA 05PAS, OPNAV N975, and Naval Reactors. You will provide day-to-day technical management of PMS351 tasking and ensures technical areas in their purview are adequately interfacing to support priority tasking. You will facilitate communication within, and as needed across, technical areas; forming, coordinating, leading, and dissolving technical teams, working groups, and/or regular meetings as needed. You will work with other SITs to ensure collaboration across technical disciplines. You will report regularly to their Project Officer, keeping them apprised of general status, warfare center specific issues, concerns, or other areas of note for task planning and execution under their area of cognizance.

Qualifications

This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by a General Engineer (0801-series), Mechanical Engineer (0830-series), an Electrical Engineer (0850-series), an Electronics Engineer (0855-series), or a Scientist/Physicist (1310-series) depending upon the qualifications of the candidate. For the 08XX series:
Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. For Physics Series 1310:
Basic Requirements:

1. Degree: physics; or related degree that included at least 24 semester hours in physics.

2. Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in physics totaling at least 24 semester hours, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
