About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W0JAAA US ARMY COUNTERINTELLIGENCE COMMAND serving as a Master Polygraph Examiner.
Duties
Providing professional mentorship to field examiners through expert demonstration of skills and abilities related to polygraph.
Reviewing investigative case files and operational concepts and proposals to determine the appropriate integration of the polygraph technique.
Developing new initiatives, coordinates with requestors seeking polygraph support, and assists in defining requirements.
Monitors the progress of intern examiners and makes recommendations regarding certification and decertification of field examiners.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph Examination and pass random examinations thereafter in accordance with Army Regulation 380-67, Personnel Security Program.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- May be required to perform TDY of at least 20% of the time and may be subject to extended TDY.
- Must successfully complete all required certification courses and training for the discipline, position and grade as directed by the USACIC CG and successfully complete the CI Special Agent Course, Fort Huachuca, Arizona.

Selective Factor: This position requires the incumbent must have obtained Federal certification as a polygraph examiner with completion of the Psychophysiological Detection of Deception Course, at the National Center for Credibility Assessment, Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and be able to obtain and maintain INSCOM polygraph examiner certification
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing technical oversight responsibilities as a polygraph Quality Control (QCO) expert and staff action officer AND rendering decisive opinion regarding the conclusions of the field examiners. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-13).
Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
Education
