This position will be assigned to the Child Development Center on JBSA Randolph AFB, San Antonio, TX. This is a regular full-time category position with guaranteed 35 hours per week, may work up to 40 hrs./week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits. Frequently lifting objects weighing up to 40 pounds, constant standing and walking, and occasionally lifting over 40 pounds. Continual standing, walking, frequent stooping, reaching, pushing and bending.

Requirements

  • This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
  • This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases.
  • This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position.
  • The applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or a Legal U.S. Resident for a minimum of 3 years and must reside in/around the area as noted in the Job Opportunity Announcement.

Qualifying Experience: Must have experience of food preparation principles and characteristics of food, and of planning processes to ensure entire meals are prepared and cooked on time. Must have knowledge of procedures to order, issue and store food. Experience and knowledge must have been gained in a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club or similar food activity. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of food preparation principles and characteristics of foods. 2. Knowledge of planning processes to ensure entire meals are prepared and cooked on time. 3. Ability to perform yield testing to determine portion cost. 4. Ability to adjust ingredients in standardized recipes. 5. Knowledge of procedures to order, issue, and store food. **NOTE: Those qualified applicants who meet both the minimum qualification requirement(s) and highly preferred criteria(s) will be considered best qualified for this position and will be referred to the selecting official(s) first for consideration. Education
