Salary: $29 - 34 per hour

You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER LEADER in the Materials Management Branch (Code 1410.3), Program Management Operations Division (code 1410), Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (NFPC) (Code 1410), located at Philadelphia, PA a detachment of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will be responsible for warehousing and materials management functions including receipts, processing, storage of inbound material, inventory control and cycle counting, shipping of material, and the retrieval/ issuance of material. You will be responsible for all incoming materials, compares against original work requests and job material listing to verify receipt of correct items, notes storage or overages by surveying physical conditions. You will visually check the contents of shipping containers as well as annotating shipping documents, notify supervisor/shop planners/planner estimators of discrepancies, and initiates corrective actions. You will control and administer the receipt, issue, inventory, and storing of material and equipment used at NFPC with the responsibility of ordering supplies for the warehouse and personnel as needed. You will use up to date methods for processing, storing, handling, and marking material as well as corresponding records to maintain inventory accuracy.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: Operates a Forklift rated up to 15,000 lbs. once certified, as well as operate a standard 26,000 lb flat bed truck. Receiving material manually and systemically into warehouse from selected carriers and/or company for issuance to shop personnel, disposition to stock, or shipment to another location. Understands shipping methods and carrier requirements, and utilizes such for the shipment of crates, parcels, miscellaneous material, etc. Utilizes inventory control methods and standards pertaining to and accounting for material ordered for general consumption and storage, as well as marking and identifying material for storage. Creates and maintain files, process packing lists and shipping documents, create and administer DD1149 documents, uses Microsoft office proficiently, and uses standard office equipment.
