About the Position: This position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, Army Field Support Brigade - CONUS West, LSE, Fort Riley KS.

Duties

Serves as a Food Service Specialist responsible for Army Food Management Information System (AFMIS) administration. Serves as the primary technical authority for quality assurance requirements, policies, and procedures. Acts as a Quality Assurance Evaluator (QAE) and Alternate Contracting Officer Representative (ACOR) for Food Service contracts. Monitors DFAC accounts, inventory status, headcounts and cash meal payment turn-ins. Uses AFMIS for program review and compiles food program performance reports. Conducts analysis of data within AFMIS for program requirements (DFAC headcount, subsistence account status, menu compliance). Plans, coordinates, and evaluates a comprehensive quality assurance program. Develops and conducts quality assurance training. Plans, directs, organizes, coordinates for equipment replacement, vendor repair of equipment. Maintains records on all food service equipment for replacement. Evaluates requirements for new equipment and modernization of dining facilities, food trucks and kiosks/bistros. Develops policies and instruction, conducts analysis for new food service equipment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position (or equalivent) in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Food Service, Hospitality Management, and Culinary Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
