Duties

This announcement closes on 09/24/2024 for receipt of applications. Due to high volume of applicants, the first 25 applicants will receive first consideration. The incumbent must be a customer service professional who can work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Things happen quickly and continuously in this position, and the incumbent will find the need to move from one task to another without much time in between or juggling multiple duties at the same time. As a Mission Support Specialist, at the full performance level you will perform the following duties: Coordinating and performing a wide variety of administrative and management services essential to the operations of the office including, but not limited to management information systems, telecommunications, correspondence control, procurement, human resources, training, logistics, property, space, records and files, printing and graphics, mail, travel, and office equipment; Advising management on assigned administrative matters; Conducting or participating in the evaluation of administrative programs, systems and methods and identify ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these services at the local level; Representing the office in dealings with vendors and organizations within and external to the agency that have primary responsibility for these services.

  • Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Managing the administrative services essential to the operations of the office somewhat complex in nature including, but not limited to budget, management analysis, human resources management, training, logistics/procurement, safety, telecommunications, space, records and files, mail, travel, fleet, and asset management. Conducting independent evaluations on administrative functions and preparing study findings, recommendations, and reports. Performing liaison functions with other organizations and establishing harmonious working relations with counterparts. You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Managing and overseeing a wide variety of administrative and management services essential to the operations of the office. Conducting or participating in the evaluation of administrative programs, systems and methods and identify ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these services. Providing authoritative advice, assistance, and guidance to supervisors, managers, and employees on complex and sensitive issues.
