About the Position: Serves as a working leader of three or more employees in accomplishing the following trades and labor work in connection with the testing, all-up-rounding, disassembly, reassembly, inspection, demilition, inventory, modification, and repair of various missile systems and components.
Duties
Serve as a working leader of three or more employees in accomplishing duties such as trades and labor work in connection with the testing, disassembly, reassembly, inspection, and repair of various missile systems and components.
Operate systems such as MLRS Family of Munitions (MFOM) missile systems, ARMY, Marine Corp, also various Interservice Missile Systems for Air Force and Navy air-to-air and air-to-ground systems).
Ensure that work orders, schematics, drawings, material and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
Ensure current Standard Operating Procedures are in place and appropriate technical information is available for employees.
Schedule workload on a daily basis.
Participate with logistics management specialist and supervisor in the planning of work schedules and in the development of cost estimates.
Perform a variety of administrative duties such as labor and production and time and attendance reporting during the absence of the supervisor.
Work with area service crews and stock control division to ensure correct material movement and accountability.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 5%% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent to meet the requirements of AMC-R 350-4, Training and Certification Program for personnel working in ammunition operations, within one year of appointment.
- Incumbent is required to successfully complete a variety of hazardous material classes.
- Incumbent is required to successfully complete a variety of explosive material classes.
- The incumbent must be able to operate forklift.
- This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to lead the work of an Ordnance Equipment Mechanic Leader without more than normal supervision. Disassembly thru final test of the more complex missile equipment and multi-component devices that are composed of a number of interrelated electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and assemblies and components, schedule daily workload, explain proper work methods, and update supervisor on status and progress of work.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Job requires frequent standing, bending, and working in tiring positions, with occasional sitting down at workbenches. Incumbent is required to lift, pull, or push a variety of items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally some above that weight.
WORKING CONDITIONS: May work in an environmentally controlled area or in areas that are well lighted, heated and ventilated. Subject to high frequency noise, cuts, bruises, and burns or shocks caused by high voltage energy. Some outside work may also be involved. Incumbent will be exposed to hazardous explosives and chemicals and is required to wear protective clothing (e.g. conductive shoes, coveralls, goggles, aprons, gloves, safety glasses, etc.)
