The primary purpose of this position, INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, NH 2010 2, is to deliver life cycle logistics products, processes and personnel to acquire and support war-winning capabilities, serve as an Inventory Management Specialist for an assigned AFLCMC Directorate organization. Perform such other functions as required.
Duties
Perform work associated with management of items and prepare recommendations and directives for procurement of material.
Determine current and future supply requirements.
Participate in meetings and conferences and provide advice to others.
Provide material support for particular projects, work operations, and/or programs.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-1, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-4 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in demonstrating the ability to: apply knowledge of systems, techniques, and underlying management concepts for determining, regulating, or controlling the level and flow of supplies from initial plan through acquisition, storage, issue, and utilization or disposal; work involved a number of processes such as (a) Requirements Determination - Planning for and determining current and future supply requirements to meet customer needs; (b) Material Distribution - Planning and determining the distribution and positioning of supplies among major supply stations, stock points, or using activities; (c) Procurement Authorization - Preparing recommendations and directives for the procurement of material, indicating the types of items, quantities, and at all times, the sources; and (d) Funds Management - Analyzing planned or scheduled material requirements and forecasts to determine categories and quantities of items, as well as funds required. . NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

EDUCATION: Successfully completed a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Combinations of successfully completed post post-high school education and specialized experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and practices of inventory management.
Skill in applying the principles, concepts, and practices of inventory management sufficiently.
Ability to communicate factual and procedural information clearly, orally and in writing.
Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gathering pertinent data, and recommend solutions.
Ability to plan and organize work, and consult effectively with co-workers.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
