Duties

Serves as the Chief of Public Affairs, Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall. Responsible for the integration, planning, initiation, direction, coordination, and review of JBM-HH Public Affairs Program. Directs the JBM-HH Public Affairs Program in the functional areas of media relations, command information, community relations, strategic communications and public affairs career program management. Serves as the principal staff advisor to the Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Commander and senior staff principals on all matters involving public issues and the creation of communication policy. Activities and programs include media relations, command information, community relations and national relations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. You will be required to sign a DA 5019 and take and pass a urinalysis test prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • Temporary Duty Travel is approximately 10%.
