Duties

This position will work closely with staff members within the project team and group to achieve mutual objectives and goals. They will develop methods and promote standards for evaluation, testing, and improvement of technologies. Design, develop, and implement computer programs and/or hardware solutions for projects. Responsible for documenting progress and results. Design, develop, and implement computer programs and / or hardware solutions for projects. Prepare and present briefings and demonstrations of technical progress to NIST management and to other agency sponsors. Prepare and present material that documents project accomplishments to NIST customers including industry, academia, and other agencies.

Qualifications

For ZP-I Consideration: Undergraduate You must be a student accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree in Computer Science OR a degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and at least 15 of the 30 semester hours include any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. For ZP-II Consideration: Graduate You must be a student accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree in Computer Science OR a degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and at least 15 of the 30 semester hours include any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. In additional to the above, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education or applicants may qualify based on superior academic achievement Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education

All applicants must be a student accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, degree) in a qualifying educational institution, on a full or half-time basis (as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled). In addition, you must be enrolled in school for the duration of the appointment. You will be required to provide documentation to support your eligibility for the program.

Applicants must possess a grade point average (GPA) of a 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0. Grade-point averages are to be rounded to one decimal place. For example, 2.95 will round to 3.0 and 2.94 will round to 2.9.If you are submitting an acceptance/enrollment letter from your university you MUST also upload your last known unofficial transcript containing your cumulative GPA. If you do not provide proof of GPA, you will be disqualified from further consideration.
