The auditor position is located in the Finance Service and performs systemic financially based audits, surveys, reviews, studies, analysis and evaluations of the financial operations, internal controls and procedures at Atlanta VA Health Care System.

Duties

The incumbent will serve in a developmental assignment to provide the individual with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the full range of duties as described in the targeted position. The position encompasses all aspects of Nursing Services and functionally aligned to provide administrative support to specialty service area Geriatrics Nursing. This position will interpret policy, directives and apply to daily operations within the service Major Duties for this position may include: Requires skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature Knowledge of the theory and principles of management and organization, including administrative practices and procedures common to organizations Knowledge of the theory and principles of management and organization, including administrative practices and procedures common to organizations Using qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques such as: literature search; work measurement; task analysis and job structuring Flowcharting of work processes; graphing; and calculation of means, modes, standard deviations, or similar statistical measures Carries out major assignments in conducting organizational operations Performs work that affects operations to a substantial degree Provides consultation or expert advice to management Is involved in planning long- or short-term organization objectives Investigates and resolves significant matters on behalf of management Performs other relevant duties as assigned. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-9.The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
