Duties

You will document study purposes, methods, assumptions, and conclusions; acquires sufficient knowledge of issues, problems, and subjects studied to resolve problems and to ensure results reflect real world environments You will conduct modeling and simulation for a wide range of logistics processes; evaluates economic and other impact of new technologies on current systems and policies and assesses performance. You will apply parametric knowledge of systems and equipment life cycle to perform cost and economic analyses. You will generate ideas for new programs, policies, studies and approaches in one or more subject areas. You will monitor, evaluates and coordinates projects and studies carried out under contract. You will document study purposes, methods, assumptions and conclusions; develops and coordinates study plans and establishes priorities. You will prepare comprehensive findings/study results in the format of point papers, decision papers, PowerPoint briefs and other formats and presents finding at multiple venues throughout the Marine Corps.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This position requires which requires a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for this position. I am willing and able to submit to a SCHR check.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Serving as a junior analyst or assistant in operations research, where responsibilities included assisting with data collection, conducting statistical analysis, and supporting the development of analytical models. This experience involved working under supervision to contribute to projects aimed at optimizing processes, improving decision-making, or enhancing operational efficiency within an organization. Education


Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

A Degree: in operations research;

OR

At least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours MUST have been in calculus.
