This position is located at Grant Library. Duties

Provides technician support by performing a wide variety of direct services to the public: registers patrons, shelves library materials, prepares displays, answers basic reference questions, and assists customers in locating materials. Assists in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories. Performs simple maintenance on the library's automated systems. Incumbent may perform physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, pushing of loaded trucks; and recurring lifting of heavy items such as boxes of books or journals.

Requirements

• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
• Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade or two years of education above high school or a combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements.
