About the Position: This position serves as Library Technician (OA) at Hospital Education for Evans Army Community Hospital in Fort Carson, Colorado. Incumbent will provide technical support to a medical librarian or similar type of information specialist by performing a wide variety of tasks which furnish direct services to the hospital staff, patients and indirect technical services.

Duties

Perform a variety of basic medical reference services for library clientele. Support Librarian by conducting specific marketing activities for medical staff, patients, and family members. Responsible for the management of the serials and periodicals function. Provide general clerical and administrative support for the library.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • A pre-placement medical examination is required.

OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
