Duties
The incumbent is a senior business/industry specialist responsible for planning, managing, and independently implementing major business/industry program segments of the office, bureau or agency.
As a Director, Defense Industrial Base Division, you will perform the following duties:
Direct, plan, and organize work of the Division and employees.
Implement major business/industry programs related to the health and competitiveness of the United States (U.S.) industrial base.
Supervise Section 232 investigations and reports, Section 232 exclusion processes, defense industrial base surveys and reports, technology, supply chain and export control assessments and reports, and other industrial analyses.
Maintain liaison and consultative coordination with other components of the Department of Commerce, inter-agency and industry, personally or through subordinates, to resolve problems and other matters of mutual interest.
This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Supervisory Trade and Industry Analyst GS-1101-15, Full Performance Level (FPL) GS-15 positions within the Bureau of Industry and Security in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience in federal or private sector performing the following:
Providing policy guidance in developing and implementing major business and industry programs.
Acting as an authority and spokesperson in discussions with government agencies, senior level business, industry, and academic officials, and/or significant congressional staff and committees.
Developing analyses, technical information, and/or written products in support of major business and industry programs.
