As a/an Funding Specialist, you will:
Draft correspondence to request additional funding or transfers in subcategories, or to obtain clarification.
Establish and monitor internal systems to assure timely receipt, control, review, and analysis of annual amendment needs and contract renewals.
Receive assignments through the Division Director or Account Executive Branch Chief and performs the funding control functions for the office, monitors expenditures and balances, and prepares funding requests with appropriate explanation and guidance.
Work closely with the Asset Management Division Director or Account Executive Branch Chief to ensure that all funding available for various programs is utilized to its maximum potential.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
-Experience with laws, regulations and precedents applicable to funding, including the Section 8 contract renewal process.; AND
-Experience with fund availability, this includes utilizing systems that report funding balances and subsidy use.; AND
-Experience with funding decisions for multifamily housing programs or similar commercial real estate financing experience, which may include Identifying issues that could cause a delay in the receipt of funding at the project level or expiration of the contract or funding shortfalls, taking corrective actions, reserving and obligating project funds, renewing contracts, amend rents, processing special claims, monitoring project balances or monthly vouchers.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-12 you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
