You will serve as a AUTEC Emergency Management (EM) Coordinator in the AUTEC BASE OPERATIONS of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. NT-04 is equivalent to GS-11/12.

Duties

You will serve as AUTEC Emergency Management (EM) Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of AUTEC's EM and continuation of operations (COOP) planning, coordination, and integration. You will oversee and audit all contractor EM and COOP activities necessary to construct, sustain, and improve operational resilience in accordance with applicable Government and Department of the Navy regulations, policies, and guidelines. You will support the AUTEC's mission by coordinating with all contractor business and technical functional areas, understanding the technical and operational capabilities, and delivery of AUTEC Range services to the Fleet during unforeseen events. You will engage in EM and COOP planning by implementing operational controls and measures necessary to manage each unique emergency and risk. You will be responsible for continuous monitoring and review of the performance and effectiveness of the AUTEC contractor's COOP and EM programs. You will ensure AUTEC emergency readiness through coordination and cooperation with the AUTEC contractor, NUWC Detachment AUTEC leadership, and local first responders, during exercise planning and execution.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 (GS-9/10 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying analytical and evaluative methods to identify and resolve issues or problems to support program management processes and procedures improvement.
